I read a great quote this week.
When a toxic person can no longer control you, they will try to control how others see you. The misinformation will seem unfair, but stay above it, trusting that others will see the TRUTH, just like you did. – Jill Blakeway
I love this quote because it simple explains why we experience drama.
It’s safe to admit, we invite negativity in our lives, but many times we don’t.
We go about our lives and then…BAM! We get a text, tweet, phone call stating “Do you know what people are saying about you?”
It’s happened to me. I am sure it may have happened to you.
It’s hard dealing with people lying on us and stirring up trouble. Why? They know direct attacks will not work, so they try to change the way others perceive us.
The sad fact is some will believe them. Those who believe the lies are not worthy to be in your life.
However, there are those who will not believe the lie and eventually the the gossip spreader’s toxicity will eat at them and truth will prevail because lies have no foundation.
Stand strong and know the truth will make you free.
