Dinner For One

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, many people are  not looking towards the holiday.

When families get together, there may not be laughs. It may be a time for nitpicking, judging, and bringing up traumatic memories.

With many Thanksgiving laughter becomes shouting.

If this is your type of family and you are able to avoid it,

AVOID IT!!!

You are not bound to be miserable.

Stay home and eat crackers and watch Netflix instead of eating a meal surrounded with pain and strife.

Who’s going to be upset? The people who would upset you anyways. This time you don’t have to see them.

I know this is not the type of holiday advice people give, but I am not typical. I would rather you alone and happy than surrounded by people and miserable.

People who give you strife owe you nothing.

  1. I completely agree. I feel like people expect us to show up to events because we are family and yet when we do they either ignore you or tear you down because they feel they can. Just because they are family doesn’t mean you have to subject yourself to misery. Get together with a close friend who may be going through the same situation and have a movie or tv marathon. You will enjoy your holiday much better.
